How your vault is protected
You’re trusting us with the most sensitive documents you own. Here’s exactly how that trust works — in plain English, no jargon.
We can’t read your vault. Neither can our staff.
There is no “view vault” button anywhere in our company. Not for support, not for engineers, not for the founder. The screens our team uses can see that your account exists and whether your switch is armed — never what’s inside your vault, who your contacts are, or what your letters say. We didn’t just decide not to look; we built the system so there’s nothing to look with.
Every item gets its own lock
Each document, password, and letter in your vault is encrypted with its own unique key — the same encryption standard (AES-256) that banks and governments use. Those keys are themselves locked away in a hardened key store, separate from the data. Someone who somehow stole our database would be holding scrambled noise.
Nothing is released without humans agreeing
Your vault only opens when the family and friends you chose confirm that something has actually happened to you. No timer, no employee, and no computer can release it alone — and a single “they’re fine” from any of your verifiers stands the whole system down. You’re warned the moment anyone starts that process, so a false alarm ends with one tap from you.
Your password is never stored — and no code travels with its link
We store a scrambled fingerprint of your password, not the password itself, so it can’t be read or reused even by us. When your loved ones claim their delivery, the claim link and the access code travel separately — email for one, text message for the other — so no single stolen inbox is enough. Repeated wrong guesses lock things down automatically.
We never see your card, and we never sell your data
Payments are handled entirely by Stripe, the same processor used by Amazon and Google — your card number never touches our servers. And your information is not for sale, full stop. The subscription is the business; you are not the product. The details live in our privacy policy.
